How It's Made
is a series of clips on Discovery Channel about how products are produced. The items take less than ten minutes each and are very useful in class. See
http://science.discovery.com/tv-schedules/weekly.html
for the actual schedule or search on "How it's made" on
http://dsc.discovery.com/
.
How Stuff Works
is a website explaining how lots of machines and other products work. The explanations are not meant for young readers, but it's worth trying.

You Tube
op
http://www.youtube.com
contains very good clips about technology, but you have to search on the site. For example: the key word "Ruby Goldberg machines" leads to many instructive clips showing mechanical principles on

.
The New Way Things Work
is the well-known book by David Macaulay. It's probably in your class library. An interactive CD-ROM of the material in the book has been published, but is sold out. However, Technicles still has a few copies in stock. Teachers can ask for it via the contact form.
Lego NXT
examples
are available on many sites. Just follow the links or search on "Lego NXT examples":
